Kuba Szymanski
Started sailing...
Started sailing as a teenager in native Poland. Loved it so much that he had to go to sea to fulfil his boyhood dreams. In 1985 went to Maritime University of Szczecin (Today Maritime Polytechnic) and 5 years later left as Master of Navigation and Deep Sea Fishing and obviously 3rd Officer ticket. Meantime Kuba sailed extensively on different yachts and tall ships, in 1989 becoming PZZ (Polish Yachting Association) Instructor in famous Trzebiez training Centre. Kuba moved to the Isle of Man in 2000 and since became RYA Cruising and RYA Keelboat instructor, and races his First 40.7 “Polished Manx” extensively in many off shore races.
Professional career
Kuba’s professional career included BP, Maersk, Schulte and Kosan Gas, Chemical &Product Tankers. He reached ship’s captain position in 1999.
Last 16 years Kuba has been managing ships of all types and since 2010 is a Secretary General of InterManager – International Ship Managers Association.
RYA instructor
Kuba is RYA (Royal Yachting Association) instructor in Douglas Bay Yacht Club – Isle of Man, teaches First Aid Courses and lectures in Business School Isle of Man at Marine Superintendency Course since 2005.
